
DIMAPUR, JUNE 12 (MExN): Former Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), Thenucho Tunyi has expressed sadness at the passing away of Vengota Nakro. “A man of few words, Vengota Nakro had a heart for the welfare and progress of our Naga people. A master agriculturist, he had a deep concern for the conservation of biodiversity and tirelessly worked towards it. He propagated the need for self -reliance and self sufficiency among the Naga people in general and the Chakhesang people in particular. His contributions will remain a guiding spirit in days to come. He also took a keen interest and was committed to the Naga cause,” a press release from the former Speaker stated. He added that Vengota actively participated in the church and shared a burden for the wellbeing of its congregation. He led an examplary life and in his death we have lost a noble soul, Thenucho stated, and expressed condolences to the bereaved family.
