DIMAPUR, APRIL 17 (MExN): A senior NSCN-IM official was this evening shot dead by unknown assailants, suspected to be from the NSCN (K) at East Police Colony, Dimapur. Police recovered the body from a silver-coloured Santro bearing registration number NLO7-0995 at around 8:25 pm. The deceased, Vihoto Chishi, was former CAO of the Sumi region. A single bullet was lodged in his right cheek. Vihoto is from Thahekhu village. Family members refused a post-mortem and his body was transported in a mini-truck to be rested in his native place.
Meanwhile, reliable sources informed that a Sumo carrying seven cadres of the NSCN (K) broke down at Chukitong area. Upon getting information, NSCN (IM) men rushed to the area but the rival cadres had already dispersed through the jungle route, sources further informed.
