Former vice president of Kohima Press Club no more

Kohima, January 25 (MExN): The Kohima Press Club (KPC) has deeply mourned the sad demise of senior journalist and former vice president of KPC, Eric Miachieo, who breathed his last on the afternoon of January 25. 

In his journey as a journalist, he had covered stories of importance especially that of social concern, political developments and issues surrounding the Indo-Naga conflict, KPC stated in a press note.  

He was elected as the vice president of Kohima Press Club on January 25, 2010 wherein he served in this capacity for the tenure 2010-2012. ‘We fondly remember his invaluable contributions to the growth of the Press Club,’ KPC stated.

“In his demise, we have lost a dear friend and colleague, who was also humble, honest and a true gentleman. His loss will be felt by many and we will continue to celebrate his personality, contributions, and memories,” it added. 

While paying their tributes to the former Vice President and conveying condolences to the bereaved family, KPC added, “It is our prayer that God will grant eternal rest to the departed soul and also give peace and comfort to all his loved ones.”

DPC: The Dimapur Press Club (DPC) has condoled the demise of Eric Miachieo, who breathed his last on January 25. He was one of the founding members of DPC and served as Secretary of the Club during its inception.

“It is with profound sadness that we bid farewell to Miachieo, whose invaluable contributions have left an indelible mark on the journalistic field. Our sincere condolences go out to his bereaved family. It is our prayer that God will comfort and strengthen you during this time of grief. We pray for the departed soul to rest in perfect peace,” DPC stated in its press note.
