
Dimapur, August 27 (MExN): The oldest private school of Nagaland, which began its services prior to 1947, will get a new campus very soon at Army Supply road, Dimapur.
The foundation stone of new building of Shree Digamber Jain Higher Secondary School (SDJHSS) was inaugurated by Sushil Kumar Patel, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur on August 27 in the presence of various community leaders including Om Prakash Sethi and Prakash Chand Ajmera, President and General Secretary respectively of Shree Digamber Jain Samaj, Dimapur.
A press release issued by Ajay Sethi, Secretary, SDJHSS Dimapur stated that speaking on the occasion, Patel assured the Jain community of his administration's full co-operation for the noble venture which will lead to the building of careers of thousands of students from not only Jain community, but from all the communities and various sections of Nagaland. He wished for the speedy completion of the institutional buildings, besides other amenities as needed.
Foundation stone was laid by the senior most citizen of Jain community in Nagaland, Chiranjilal Patni. Despite being in his nineties, he offered his families' services in every possible manner in the construction of the new school building.
President Sethi expressed his heart-felt gratitude to the special invitee Patel for his all-round support after he inaugurated by opening the ribbon at the Mahavir Sthal gate. He also informed that the school will be one of its kind with all possible amenities & streams of studies available for every section of the society. He expressed his gratitude to the whole of Jain community with whose contributions only the land & building is enabled.
Thanking all the community leaders & organizational representatives, President expressed his gratitude to all the people who have assisted in any way in making the foundation laying ceremony a grand success. He thanked Sentirenla Ao, ACP, all the executive members of Jain Samaj, Suresh Chhabra, Secretary, Mahavir Sthal, Binod Chhabra, Secretary, Constructions, Ajay Sethi, Secretary, Jain School, Vikash Sethi, Joint Secy. Jain School, Pawan Ajmera, Deputy Secretary, Pradip Jhanjhri, Anchor, Rahul Jain, Temple Priest, Engineers & workers etc. in particular.
The foundation laying ceremony was followed by a community feast at Jain Bhawan, offered by Suresh Chhabra, Secretary, Mahavir Sthal. Earlier, a procession was taken out from Jain Temple to Mahavir Sthal, which was led by the Jain school Band. Reji Abraham, Principal, SDJHSS also attended the programmes with all his teaching and non-teaching staffs.
