Nagaland Technical Education & Elections, Advisor Medo Yhokha laid the foundation stone for construction of Kitsubozou Community Hall at Kitsubozou, Kohima on July 30.

The building will be constructed under Slum Redevelopment- A component of Smart City Mission, Kohima. The ground floor will be used for multi-parking, middle floor for DB’s quarter and top floor for Kitsubozou Community Hall.  

Speaking on the occasion, Yhokha wanted to see that the building brings the people closer and establish better understanding and unity amongst the community. Requesting the contractors to ensure quality work, he also assured all possible help from his side and also to monitor for timely completion of the project.

Stating that smart city is not measure by developing smart buildings alone, he called upon the people to be smart citizen and be part of the smart society. Towards this, he challenged the people to change their attitude and approach and at same time to upgrade their lifestyle alongwith the advanced technology. Yhokha expressed his desire to expedite the construction of link road in the lower side of the colony as well as augmentation of the traditional well.

Touching on the existing Government Primary School in Kitsubozou, he assured to recommend the case for upgradation if found feasible.

Kitsubozou Panchayat, Chairman, Vimhalie Pienyu thanked the Kohima Smart City Development Limited for taking up the project under ‘Slum Redevelopment’ and also the DBs for their cooperation towards the project. He also made a fervent appeal to the contractors to complete the project on time with quality work.

Vituozo Kire, Assistant Head GB, Kitsubozou said that this is the biggest project ever received by Ward No. 5- Kitsubozou and called for proper execution of the project. Kezhalelie Miasalhou, Head DB also spoke at the function. Contractor Khoto Tetseo informed that the expected time for completion of the project is June 2023.

Rev Dr Vezopa Rhakho, Pastor Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima pronounced dedicatory prayer while vote of thanks was proposed by Kitsubozou Panchayat treasurer Dzieseneilie Sachü.
