
Kiphire, April 11 (DIPR): The foundation stone of Government Polytechnic in Kiphire was laid on April 6 by the Parliamentary Secretary, Higher & Technical Education, Deo Nukhu as the chief guest.
Apprising that the Polytechnic will benefit the future generation of the district, Nukhu said that the students now need not go outside for polytechnic studies, but acquire diplomas and junior engineering courses from home. Pointing out the close proximity of Kiphire with Myanmar, he added that people from Myanmar can also benefit from the institution.
He called on the people to co-operate with the government for carrying out developmental works smoothly in the district. Assuring to start the construction work of the institute within a year, the chief guest further appealed to the people to abstain from causing any disturbances in the same.
Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, Sedevikho Khro also delivered a short speech. The programme was chaired by Director Technical Education, Er. Arjun Singh.
