Kohima, February 24 (MExN): Naga People’s Front (NPF) Central Hq. Kohima today expressed sadness at the death of T Sakusangba (Saku) Aier, former Parliamentary Secretary and founder of Sakus Mission College, Dimapur, in the early hours of February 24. In a condolence message, NPF Press Bureau remembered Aier as “a simple and refined gentleman who also gave his best services towards encouraging the education of the younger generation.” Noted for his philanthropic activities and effort towards social uplift, late Saku Aier was an active politician who represented the 30th Alongtaki A/C for the 2008 to 2013 tenure, it added. The President of NPF, Dr Shürhozelie Liezetsu and all ranks and files of the NPF Central have extended sincere condolences to the wife and children of the deceased and prayed that God give them strength and solace to overcome the grievous loss.
In a separate condolence note, NLA Speaker Chotisuh Sazo expressed shock over the death of T Sakusangba (Saku) Aier. “Late Er. T Sakusangba Aier perpetually upheld highest decorum on the floor of the Nagaland Assembly. In his life, he at all times upheld honesty, probity, and the principle of public thinking and simple living. He has contributed abundantly for the development of the state of Nagaland. He has demonstrated greatest concern for the welfare of the poor,” Sazo said. The NLA Speaker on behalf of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly further extended condolences to the family.
Minister for National Highways and Mechanical Engineering, Nuklutoshi has also expressed shock at the untimely demise of T Sakusangba Aier. The Minister in a note said that Aier was active in church activities and was always concerned for the growth of the NPF party, particularly in Mokokchung district. “In his death, the Naga people and the NPF party have lost a dedicated politician and the void created by his death will be difficult to fill,” Nuklutoshi said. On behalf of the Mokokchung district NPF, the Minister conveyed condolences to the bereaved family of late Aier and also prayed to God to grant them solace at this hour of grief.
Meanwhile, the six-member Nagaland legislators’ study tour team along with the Commissioner & Secretary of NLA, who are currently on study tours to Japan and Indonesia, are also shocked by the demise of Er T Sakusangba Aier. The tour team include: Y Patton, Home Minister; Yitachu, Education Minister; Pukhayi Sumi, Parliamentary Secretary; Dr Benjongliba Aier, Parliamentary Secretary; Dr Longrineken, Parliamentary Secretary; Khriehu Liezietsu, Parliamentary Secretary; and Benjamin Newmai, Commissioner and Secretary, NLA. “In his death, the Naga people have lost a politician and a technocrat and the void created by his death will be difficult to fill,” the members said. They further extended condolences to the wife and children of Aier.
