
Dimapur, June 24 (MExN): The joint council of four colony councils under Dimapur 1 Assembly Constituency, Ward-9, comprising Supply Colony, Nepali Basti, Fellowship Colony, and Forest Colony, has unanimously resolved not to allow any non-registered voters or outsiders to enter any of the polling stations within the jurisdiction of Ward-9 on the polling day of civic elections on June 26.
Furthermore, the joint council stated that contesting candidates, along with all ward residents, must endeavour for the peaceful conduct of the urban local bodies (ULBs) elections.
It cautioned that stringent action would be taken against anyone hosting or mobilising outsiders for election gain.
Action will be initiated against residents or voters indulging in any acts disturbing the peace and harmony of the ward, as stated a press release from the joint council.
It also imposed a total ban on the supply or sale of alcohol and other intoxicating substances within Ward-9.
Meanwhile, the joint council encouraged everyone who has their names registered in the e-roll to exercise their right to vote on the polling day.
