Four days of Tsükhenyi Festival celebrated

Pfutsero: A four-day long celebration of Tsükhenyi Festival of the Khuzhami Chakhesang began on April 24 coinciding with the Pfütseromi Youth Society’s 65th Annual Session at Pfütseromi Village. A press release received here informed that Dr. Ditsolo Mero, Medical Superintendent, Civil Hospital Dimapur, graced the event as the chief guest.

In his speech, he urged the gathering to develop green cultivation in order to have a sustainable living and also to preserve water calling it the main source of life. “The good old tradition of our ancestor should be preserved to boost the inflow of tourist which will improve the economy of the society,” he stated.  He further spoke on health care awareness and HIV/AIDS which he said is very much prevalent in our society.

On the first day of the event, Lhiwenyi Kapfo, VDB Secretary, Pfütseromi, brought greetings, W.K. Ritse, Village Council Chairman Pfütseromi gave a short speech, women society, Pfütseromi, presented folk song, which was followed by a tug of war.

On April 25, Tsükhenyi games and sports was held which W.K. Ritse, graced as the chief guest and Sabu Kapfo, VDBM as the guest of honour. Meanwhile, on April 26, a khel wise feast was celebrated at Pfütseromi Village. The Festival ended on April 27 with a celebration of cultural Sunday where different cultural songs and activities were presented.
