Four districts get Principal Session Judge

Parliamentary Secretary for Justice & Law and SIRD, Er. Picto Shohe said that four posts of District Session Judge have been re-designated as Principal District Session Judge at Kohima, Dimapur, Tuensang and Mokokchung.  

He said that this step was one of the several initiatives taken by the government to streamline the delivery of justice. Speaking after unfurling the national tri-colour on Monday at Atoizu, Er. Picto also disclosed that hardware and video conferencing equipments have been installed in all the District Courts under the second phase of E-Court.  

Further, he said that five posts of Junior Civil Judge and seven posts of Assistant Public Prosecutor have been created this year.  

Er. Picto also pointed out that the Cabinet has recently approved for creation of six new Sub-District Industries Centres at Atoizu, Mangkolemba, Meluri, Noklak, Tizit and Tuli by redeploying the existing staff. “Construction of helipads at Zunheboto, Phek, Satoi, Wokha and Tizit for the State Helicopter service has been taken up,” he added.  

Earlier, the chief guest reviewed the 9 parade contingents and received salute from them. Despite the inclement weather, the government servants and public of Atoizu turned out in huge numbers and attended the Independence Day celebration, which was marked with various cultural performances, choreography, special numbers etc.
