Mon, August 1 (MExN): Four NPF assembly constituency units of Mon district have expressed “dismay and discontentment” over what they termed “arbitrary decision” of Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu to “unconstitutionally dissolve the well organized A/C units of NPF in the state.”
In a statement, presidents of the NPF units of 42nd Wakching A/C, 47th Aboi A/C, 48th Moka A/C, and 55th Tobu A/C further sought response from Dr. Shürhozelie as to “why and on what ground the A/C units of NPF were dissolved and substantiate his stand.”
The statement maintained that the “present entanglement in the state is purely on leadership crisis within the elected members of 12th House, to which the matter does not necessarily attract the organisational structure of the Party to be shaken.” But, it added, “Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu has gone taking extreme action over Party at A/C levels for no tangible reason(s) to dissolve the organisational structure of good numbers of A/C units even when the Parties are intact with.”
It affirmed that the four A/C units in particular have never stood in favour or against any of the leaders vying for top post under any circumstances during when the crisis erupted and beyond. “But, to our utter surprise; in question, we were notified of being dismissed as NPF units through social and electronic media,” the statement added. “The role of the A/C units is not to elect the leader of the Legislature Party but our business is solely to elect the representative from Party fold, but shifting charges as being responsible for present crisis within is uncalled for.”
The statement was appended by Woklang Konyak, President, NPF 42nd Wakching A/C; Yongwem Konyak, President, NPF 47th Aboi A/C; Pongtao Konyak, NPF 48th Moka A/C; Ngushu Konyak, President, NPF 55th Tobu A/C.
