
Kohima, May 29 (MExN): The second contest on Financial Participatory Approach (FPA) was conducted at Punglwa, Heningkunglwa and Ngwalwa villages under Peren district between May 25 to 27. This programme was part of a methodology of community mobilization and decision making process called the Financial Participatory Approach under the Project ‘Forest and Biodiversity Management in the Himalaya, Nagaland’ co-financed by the Federal Republic of Germany through KfW (German Development Bank).
The programme was organized by the Nagaland Empowerment of People through the Economic Development (NEPED) as the Project Implementing Agency (PIA). The second contest was conducted with the theme ‘Infrastructure for Nature Conservation,’ where all sections of the village participated and the top 5 were selected and given cash awards with certificates. The best concept among the top 5 will be followed by implementation in the village which will be financed by KfW. FPA is being implemented on pilot basis in 5 villages under Peren district.
