DIMAPUR, JUNE 6 (MExN): In conformity with the directions from the Department of Food & Public Distribution (DoFPD), Ministry of Consumer Affair Food & Public Distribution (MoCAFPD), the Directorate of Food and Civil Supplies, Nagaland has directed all Fair Price Shops (FPS) to fully implement the Aadhaar enabled Public Distribution System (AePDS) which is an Aadhaar-based on-line sales of PDS commodities at the FPS level with immediate effect.
In a notification issued by Chubawati Chang, Director, Food & Civil Supplies, all the FPS have been directed to update software/application of ePoS Device (s) immediately and ensure 100% ePoS transaction by all the FPS in the state.
Pointing out that there will be real-time deduction of allocation for non-transacted quantity, the notification cautioned that for cases (if any) of non compliance, the erring FPS will be held responsible/answerable to the Ministry and concerned NFSA beneficiaries under the respective shops.
It also stated that the monthly allocation of FPS will depend upon the transaction they have carried out in the current month (the data of which is recorded real-time in the central server). Any quantity which is not transacted through the ePoS device will be assumed as "closing balance" which will be carried forward and the subsequent month's allocation will be affected (ie. actual allocation minus carried forward quantity).
In case of device(s) or network issue(s) if any, the matter should be immediately be brought to the notice of the Department for prompt redress in a time bound manner, the notification added.
