Kohima, January 28 (MExN): The Nagaland GIS & Remote Sensing Centre (NGISRSC), through its Drone School — the Drone Centre of Excellence — on January 27 officially commenced a 14-day FPV (First Person View) Drone Training Programme under the Nagaland Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NSEDM).
The training programme aims to develop high-precision piloting skills and immersive control techniques that are vital for real-world drone applications.
A total of ten selected candidates are participating in the intensive training module, which has been structured to impart hands-on expertise in FPV drone assembly, simulator-based flight training, live drone operations, aerial maneuvering, safety protocols and basic troubleshooting.
On successful completion of the course, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Completion, certifying their proficiency and readiness for entry-level drone operations and services. Droneverse Aviation Pvt. Ltd., the industry partner for NGISRSC, will provide placement support along with practical exposure in various drone-based service sectors.
The initiative is a key step under the State’s broader strategy to empower youth, create technology-driven livelihood opportunities, and build a robust drone ecosystem in Nagaland. The FPV drone training programme also complements upcoming DGCA-certified Remote Pilot Courses, as well as other specialised non-DGCA modules in drone maintenance and sector-specific drone operations.
According to officials, the programme reflects the State government’s commitment to skill development and emerging technologies.
