Sir, Through your esteemed daily, I would like to give a word of caution to the students about coaching institutes. The advantages of taking coaching are well known. Unfortunately, there are many substandard coaching institutes in Nagaland which are destroying the chances of their students to clear exams. For example, most institutes give very less days for classes. These few days are not sufficient to complete even half of the syllabus. They also employ many other cost-cutting devices to maximize their profit such as combining of batches; 4 to 6 hours of class per day so that they can finish the batches fast and start new batches; offer scholarships and drastically reduce fees to attract students; add more fees in one pretext or the other; focus only on Prelims etc. Their priority is to take money and pretend the syllabus is complete. And by self study and hard work when a student clears any exam, they will use his name to attract hundred more. The owners buy cars, land and houses but they don't pay their employees on time. Employees have to wait, plead, argue, shout, take help of police etc to get their pending salaries.
Therefore, without naming names, the students and future teachers are advised to go only to those institutes which have respectable and honourable owners. Teachers don't perform well when the owners are exploitative, stingy and only profit minded. The integrity and generosity of the owner decides everything. Students don't have money or time to take coaching two or three times. So a student must believe only half of what they see in the advertisements. Only consult your trusted seniors who have studied there. The bigger their advertisements, the more hollow they can be inside. Coachings are not perfect but few are much better than others. But some of them are nothing but fraud institutions leaching on the hopes and dreams of students. They are fraud because your chance of getting a job is almost zero once you have wasted your time and money in substandard coaching.
Joining a good coaching is absolutely helpful because even Ronaldo and Messi need a coach. While a good coaching can help you get that extra marks, a wrong coaching can give you a false sense of completion and hope but make sure you never clear any exam.
