Students being educated on the importance of good oral health during the free dental health camp conducted at Government Middle School, Sabangya Compound on April 25.

DIMAPUR, APRIL 25 (MExN): Observing the Oral Cancer Screening month, a free dental camp was conducted at Govt. Middle School, Sabangya Compound on April 25. The Camp was organised by National Oral Health Programme (NOHP) in collaboration with Iva Healthcare Ltd. & Renascent Pharma, a press release issued by the Chief Medical Officer office, Mokokchung informed.
Generating awareness on oral cancer and maintenance of good oral health, Dr. Sentirenla educated the students on the importance of practising good oral health habits, avoiding the use of tobacco and on the outcomes in failing to maintain proper oral hygiene. She particularly made the students aware of the main cause responsible for oral cancer and other problems which may arise due to poor dental health.
The medical team was led by Dr. Taliwaba Ao, Senior Dental Surgeon IMDH, who treated children availing the free services provided. The staff of Sabangya PHC and teachers from GMS Sabangya assisted in all the needful logistics.
Free oral hygiene Kit, containing a toothbrush and toothpaste was also distributed to the students on the occasion.
