Dimapur, October 2 (MExN): The Political Science Programme, North East Christian University (NECU) in Collaboration with Indian Dental Association – Nagaland Branch (IDANB) conducted a dental awareness camp and free dental check-up at Dimasa Community Hall, Doyapur village on October 1. 

The event was organised on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti with the aim of promoting Gandhi’s vision of trusteeship among the community, a press note stated.  

Zubeni Lotha from NECU hosted the programme and highlighted the significance of Gandhi’s role in decentralization and its relevance the social responsibility of the professionals. Rev Simon Kemprai offered the invocation while Joycee Kemprai delivered the welcome address. Speech and awareness lecture were delivered by Darjen Phonglo, Chairman of Doyapur Village and Dr Arihant Jain, Consultant Orthodontist respectively. 

The collaborated teams comprised of students and faculty members from Political Science Programme, NECU, while Doctors and assistants from India Dental Association, Nagaland Branch along with the Village Council members pro-actively shared the stage. 

Villagers, including teachers and students from Government Primary School and Shalom Higher Secondary School, Doyapur Village participated in the camp. More than 350 people registered during the free dental check up, it added.
