Kohima, October 9 (DIPR): A free dog vaccination and consultation for pet animals was conducted in all the four Khels of Kohima Village on October 8. It was organized and sponsored by the Kewhimia Veterinarians in commemoration of KVGOA Silver Jubilee.
According to a press release, the camp was organized for the villagers to enable them to get their pet dogs anti rabies vaccination in order to prevent their pets from serious canine diseases like distemper, rabies and hepatitis. It was also informed that regular annual vaccination will protect the pets’ health as well as keep the human members of the family healthy and well since some canine illness can be transferred to human.
The camp was conducted with two booths set up in L. Khel, one booth in T. Khel, two booths in P. Khel and another one in D. Khel administered by two Veterinarians, two Veterinary Field Assistant and staff from CVO and VS Kohima in each booth.
A total number of 374 pet dogs were vaccinated with anti rabies vaccine and a number of 78 pet dogs were given free consultation.
