Phek, February 19 (MExN): A free medical camp under the initiative of SP Phek, Dr Pritpal Kaur, IPS was conducted at the Superintendent of Police (SP) Office, Phek benefiting police personnel, their families, and district administration staff, on February 18.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Kaur emphasised the importance of regular health check-ups for early diagnosis and treatment, urging participants to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Stressing the dangers of smoking, alcohol, and substance abuse, she encouraged everyone to prioritise preventive healthcare. “A healthy body is the foundation of a strong society. When the police and administration are healthy, it benefits the entire district,” the SP stated.

She highlighted the role of physical exercise in combating lifestyle diseases like hypertension and diabetes, and advised everyone to take up sports or creative hobbies to maintain mental well-being.
During the programme, doctors provided awareness on HIV & AIDS, tobacco control, hepatitis, and other health concerns. Participants underwent medical screenings for blood pressure, diabetes, and other ailments. The event began with an invocation by Veruyoyi Khesoh, Pastor of Police Baptist Church, Phek, followed by a welcome address from Additional SP Phek, Bendangtemjen Jamir, who also chaired the session. Police personnel, their families, Dobashis, and DC office staff availed the free medical services.
