MON, MAY 8 (MExN): A free multi-speciality health camp was held at PHC Tizit in Mon district on May 8 under the recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission Health Grants.
The programme was organised by the Tizit Town Council in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer, Mon, officials and staff of PHC Tizit and other stakeholders.
Addressing the programme, ADC and Administrator of Tizit Town Council, C Phuniang, said efforts would be made to organise the health camp as a monthly exercise, particularly during the peak monsoon season in Tizit town. He appealed to all stakeholders for their continued support and cooperation.
Specialist OPD services provided during the camp included medicine, paediatrics consultation, gynaecology, dental care, ultrasound and other healthcare services. PMJAY/CMHIS enrolment, blood testing and health awareness counselling were also conducted.
The programme began with an invocation prayer by Rev Wennyie Konyak, Pastor of Tizit Town Baptist Church.
Around 350 beneficiaries from Tizit town and nearby areas availed the services during the camp.
The medical team was led by Dr Wungyoung, DIO Mon, and comprised six junior specialists, two medical officers, a sonologist, a dental surgeon and a pharmacist.
