Freight loading making steady progress: NFR

Guwahati, July 11 (MExN): Freight loading in the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is maintaining steady progress and 0.735 million tonne (MT) were loaded during June, informed an official update. 

With this, the freight loading during the current financial year 2023-24 till June 2023 stood at 2.579 million tonne.

The  update further highlighted that in June, foodgrain loading increased by 7.7 % while loading of few other commodities surged by a good margin in comparison to corresponding period of the previous year. 

Timber loading increased also by 100% while it was 6.4% increase for ballast.

Loading of other miscellaneous commodities was increased by 20.0% in comparison to corresponding period of last financial year, added the update from the CPRO NFR. 

All the divisions under the jurisdiction of NFR have achieved progress in loading which in turn has generated a remarkable amount of goods revenue, signifyingthe growth of economic activities of the region, it added.
