Freight loading registers steady progress in NFR

Guwahati, August 24 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) today informed that freight loading has registered steady progress within its jurisdiction and 0.741 million tonne (MT) were loaded in July.

With this, the cumulative total of freight loading till July of the current financial year 2023-24 stood at 3.320 MT, it said. 

A press release from NFR CPRO said that during the April-July period, food grain & dolomite loading registered a progress by a good margin while few other miscellaneous commodities also recorded increase in comparison to corresponding period of the previous year.

Food grains loading increased by 25.4% and loading of dolomite increased by 3.8%.

 Loading of miscellaneous commodities like timber & ballast also registered an increase by 44.4% and 29.6% respectively when compared to the corresponding period of last financial year, it added. 

All the divisions under the jurisdiction of NFR have achieved a progress in loading which in turn has generated a remarkable amount of freight loading revenues, it added.
