Kohima, APRIL 14 (MExN): The Assam Rifles organised a friendly basketball match between troops of Assam Rifles and Jessami village youth. The event was organized with an aim to promote the spirit of sportsmanship and strengthen the bond between the armed forces and the local people.
The match saw enthusiastic participation of players from the Assam Rifles and Jessami village youth creating an atmosphere of excitement, a press release issued by the PRO, IGAR (North) informed.
The friendly match provided an opportunity for the players of both teams to showcase their basketball skills. Organising such events will help the youth to develop sportsmanship and will foster a strong bond between the armed forces and the locals, the press release added.
