Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Resources & Sports, Music Task Force And State Lotteries Khriehu Liezietsu today graced the 11th Foundation Day celebration of Friends of 80plus, hosted by Kohima Village Council (KVC) here at Tsiera Hall, L. Khel, Kohima Village.
Speaking on the occasion, Liezietsu complimented the “Friends of 80plus,” Kohima village for their commendable works towards the welfare of the 80plus citizens of Kohima village.
He said that elderly persons are asset and pride of the village, adding that because of them the reputation of the village prevail and receives due recognition from others.
He asserted that their wisdom and guidance take the society forward in all fronts. Wishing them long live, he also prayed that they will continue to show the right path to the people. Liezietsu also released a souvenir of Friends of 80plus.” The function was chaired by Dr. L. Votso Mepfhiio while welcome address was delivered by Kohima Village Council (KVC) chairman Medoselhou Keretsii.
Rev. Fr. Alex Vizo prayed for the service while Vilakuolie Mere read out Friends of 80plus report. Kiyaheii Tsikha & friends and Kethosilie presented special numbers. Vote of thanks was proposed by Shiirho Solo. Further, Parliamentary Secretary Khriehu Liezietsu, Kohima Village Gazetted Officers’ Krotho and Kohima Village Students’ Union also extended gift to the 80plus citizens. The service was followed by medical check –up and treatment for 80plus friends by Kohima Village Doctors’ Association.
