Tsovi Vasa of UFC in midfield action against Lhangphong of MVYO
Medziphema, February 7 (MExN): In the ongoing Frolic Cup at Medziphema, the 1st semi final was played between Amigos FC and Fury FC Molvom.
In a trilling first semi final battle, Amigos FC emerges victorious against the Fury FC Molvom. The match witnessed the fight for midfield dominance till the final whistle. The opening score came early in the match in the 13th minute from Menguzelie. In the second half, a 30 yard shot from Nyithong in the 57th minute took the score to 2. Fury FC were found wanting in finishing with a couple of lost chances at close range. The match was sealed when Rhitso broke the defence of Fury and tipped the ball in the corner beyond the reach of the keeper. The final score was 3-0 in favor of Amigos FC.
In the 2nd semi final, MVYO booked their Final place defeating the United Falcon Club with 3 to 1 goal. The first goal came in the 9th minute when Thejasetuo tapped the ball into the UFC net. Despite strong midfield control, the MVYO attackers were denied goals by the disciplined defence and keeper. The second half saw the custodian on both side busy keeping their net safe. Avika of MVYO found the net in the 64th minute taking the lead to 2 goals. A fine dribbling skill and finishing from Thejasetuo in the 76th minute took the score line to 3. The consolidating goal for the UFC finally came from Nourhelhoulie in the 85th minute in a display of fine counter attack.
The match ended with a final score of 3-1 in favor of Amigos FC.
The Final will witness Amigos FC looking to lift the Cup for three Consecutive times and the MVYO to finally break the jinx of Quarter Final and lift the Cup.
