Dimapur, July 2 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation(ENPO) has convened a joint co-ordination meeting with the Sumis of Kiphire and Shamator districts on July 4 with regard to the recently announced   Frontier Naga Territory (FNT).

An ENPO’s statement informed that the meeting with the Eastern Sumi Hoho (ESH) will be held on Tuesday at Hotel Saramati Dimapur from 10AM.

It further revealed that as empowered by YTC, USLP, TTC and the ENPO Sub Committee for ESH Issue to take a decision with regard to "inclusion/exclusion of Sumis of Kiphire and Shamator districts,” an ENPO Executive meeting was held on June 30.

With the endorsement in the background, and after thorough deliberations of the issue, the ENPO Executive resolved to allow Sumis of the said districts to join the ENPO Executive movement on the demand of FNT, it said.

Accordingly, the ENPO General Secretary was directed to convey to all concerned regarding the meeting with the ESH to “discuss and to move way forward together,” it added.

All tribal and frontal organisation presidents and ENPO Executives were also requested to attend the schedule meeting to ‘discuss the pressing need of the hour.”

It must be noted here that on June 29, a rally was organised by the Sumi inhabitants of Kiphire and Shamator districts under the aegis of ESH in Seyochung town demanding exclusion of Eastern Sumi territory from the purview of the new arrangement.

On June 27, the ENPO had announced that it has accepted the proposal of the Government of India for formation of a FNT with legislative, executive, administration, and financial autonomy.
