FSMA visits Kidima mission centre

Kohima, February 18 (MExN): The Councillors of Provincial team of Franciscan Sisters of Saint Mary of the Angels (FSMA) visited Kidima - the vegetable village on February 17 and 18.


The tour along North East India began from February 13 – 25, stated a press release received here. The Councillors included Sr (Dr) Manju from Madhya Pradesh and Sr Sheela from Rajasthan. The purpose was a mission and pastoral work for assessment of the congregation mission in the centres for the success, requirement for improvement and feasible for the future prospect of development.  The release said that the FSMA congregation was focusing on inclusive school for dumb, deaf, lame and disabled persons.


The missionary team also stressed on the need for “more people need to work for Christ’s ministry.” In North East India, eight mission centres have been established so far - three in Assam, one in Meghalaya and four in Nagaland (Atoizu, Dimapur, Khuzama and Kidima).


Interaction with people, visiting schools and convents were the highlights of the mission tour.  Sr Dr Manju encouraged the young girls to join the vocation.
