The hike in prices of diesel and petrol took a pause on October 25 after increasing for five straight days and taking the retail cost of fuel to record levels.
With a temporary pause, diesel and petrol were trading at October 24 rates in the public sector Indian Oil Corporation Limited’s (IOCL) outlets across Nagaland on Monday as per the IndianOil One App.
As reported earlier, after petrol, diesel is now retailing above Rs 100-a-litre in 8 out of 12 districts in Nagaland with the recent hikes. It is available below the threshold only in four districts - Wokha, Kohima, Peren and Dimapur.
In Tuensang, where fuel rates are highest, petrol was available for Rs 109.33 per litre while diesel was retailing at Rs 101.48 a litre on Monday.
In Dimapur, the cheapest location to by fuel in Nagaland, petrol and diesel were respectively retailing at Rs 105.94 and Rs 98.47 on October 25. It must be noted here that the prices reflected in IOCL’s app pertains to prevailing prices in its outlets. The prices may be higher in informal and other outlets.
According to the IANS news agency, till October 25, diesel prices have increased on 24 out of the last 31 days while petrol prices have also risen on 21 of the previous 27 days.
