Fund received from GoI towards disaster management during 2018-19

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who is also minister incharge of Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) today furnished the quantum of fund received from Government of India towards Disaster Management during the year 2018-2019.


Replying to MLA Dr. Chotisuh Sazo in unstarred question, Rio stated that State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) which is for relief amounting to Rs. 11.00 crores of which 45% for relief compensation caused by natural calamity, 15% capacity building and training on disaster management ( 5% IEC), 10% for procurement of equipment for search and rescue, 10% for state specific relief compensation for disaster within the context of Nagaland and 20% administrative cost of NSDMA.


Under the National Disaster Response Fund( NDRF), the amount stands at Rs. 130.73 crores.

 
Aapda-mitra which is a pilot project funded by the NDMA for training of volunteers  for Dimapur district amounting to Rs 22.70 lakhs. 


Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPex) which is carried out annually for each district and the state, an amount of Rs. 1.00  lakh is earmarked for each district. 


The total amount comes to Rs. 12.00 lakhs. NEPex was conducted on April 25 and 26,  2018.


Rio stated that the NSDMA does not allocate fund district wise like any other developmental scheme. 


The NSDMA sanctions or releases relief assistance/ financial help based on the number of disaster events.


The names of beneficiaries along with village name and amount sanctioned against each beneficiary under Phek district also enclosed in reply.
