G Rio School Kohima sports meet 2022 underway

A three day long annual sports meet 2022 of G. Rio School Kohima commenced today at the school ground.

Gracing the opening ceremony, Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome, president Kohima District Football  Association urged upon the students to stay focus in whatever field they are good at and never take the things casually. Yhome urged upon the students to be sincere and dedicated in their approach, and also asked them to do away with “timepass” attitude. You will never succeed in life through “timepass” attitude, he said.

 

Every student has to struggle. Utilize your talent and go for specialization, he told the students. Respect your teachers, elders and parents, he said adding “Don’t let your parents shed tears for you.”

Earlier, Rokovinuo Ngukha chaired the inaugural function while Pastor Neiphretuo Kerhuo (Students counselor) invoked God’s blessing. Welcome address was delivered by Silvi Tepa, Park View Sports Coach.

Lanumar O Jamir, sports secretary G Rio School Students’ Organization administered oath to the participating teams. Torch lighting was led by Ithika H Aye, Assistant Sports Secretary G Rio School Students’ Organization. The sports meet will continue till November 26.
