
Morung Express News Dimapur | October 15 The ‘Games for disabled 2016’ for Dimapur district organized by Special Olympics Nagaland (SON) was held at Indoor Stadium on Saturday. Around 100 differently-abled persons from Dimapur district took part in various games and sports including football, badminton, bocce, race, shotput and softball throw. The games meet is organized under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports in partnership with Special Olympics Bharat, Paralympics Committee India and All India Sports Council of the Deaf. The organizers informed that after Dimapur district, SON would organize similar games for the disabled in four other districts –Mokokchung (Oct 20), Zunheboto (Oct 22), Kohima (Oct 26) and Wokha (Oct 28). Later in the month of November the state-level games for the disabled will be held in Dimapur, which will select players for the national level games. The organizers also informed that this year traveling allowance for the participants has been sponsored by the State Social Welfare Department.
