Ganja worth Rs. 15 lakh seized

Kohima, April 28 (MExN): The District Intelligence Branch of DEF Kohima while conducting surprise checking of vehicles at Kidima junction in Kohima recovered 300 kg of ganja worth Rs. 15 lakh in the national market on April 27 around 3:00 pm, a press release from PRO, Kohima Police informed.   The contraband ganja was recovered from two vehicles (150 kg in each vehicle) – Mahindra Scorpio bearing registration number NL-07-6609, chassis number – MA1TB2BSL72G85993, engine number – BS74G41498 and Bolero Pickup bearing registration number MN-07D-2029, chassis number – ZN2GHKD1J69186, engine number – GHD1J76949.

  In this connection, two persons identified as Ngayao Singshap (30), driver of the Mahindra Scorpio and Peace Alice (28), driver of the Bolero Pickup, both from Ukhrul, Manipur, were taken into police custody and a regular case vide Khuzama PS Case No. 0018/2016 U/S 20 (b) (ii) (C) NDPS Act and Khuzama PS Case No. 0019/2016 U/S 20 (b) (ii) (C) NDPS Act respectively were registered against them for conducting further investigation, the release added.
