Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) capacity building training on Open Defecation Free Plus Component and Operation & Maintenance under JJM and block level recognition of Best Practices, Best Performing & Best WATSAN Chairman was held at PHED, Kohima Rural Office on March 7.
KOHIMA, MARCH 10 (MExN): Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission(Grameen) capacity building training on Open Defecation Free( ODF) Plus Component and Operation & Maintenance under JJM and block level recognition of Best Practices, Best Performing & Best WATSAN Chairman was held at PHED, Kohima Rural Office on March 7.
The ‘Best Performing Village’ were awarded to Gariphema Bawe village while ‘Best Practices’ was awarded to Gariphema Bawe, Kiruphema Bawe and Kidima villages. Best Water and Sanitation (WATSAN) Committee Chairman went to Guju and Kidima villages. Executive Engineer (EE), PHED, Kohima Rural Division, Er. Subongyanger gave away the certificates and cash awards, a press release informed.
EE, Kohima Rural division apprised those present that once JJM gets completed, the responsibility of the village starts from there, as operation and maintenance is their concern. He stressed on the collection of water fee and carry on with the water and sanitation activities, for a good and sustainable future.
State Human Resource Development (HRD) Consultant, Water and Sanitation Support Organization (WSSO), PHED, Kohima Thenusou Sekhose encouraged the villages present to do their best to develop their village into ODF Plus Model villages, by being self reliant and not depend on the Government alone.
Sanitation and Hygiene Consultant, District Water and Sanitation (DWSM), PHED, Kohima division, Virhelie Kruneilie shared on the topic of ‘Good sanitary practices.’ IEC & WASH Consultant, PHED, Kohima Urban Division, Vibou Seyie dwelt on Grey Water Management & Plastic Waste Management. District Coordinator, PHED, Kohima Division, Ashale Seb spoke on ODF Plus Component and Mobile App. The programme was chaired by Jal Shakti Fellow, Botsa Block, Khrietso Kense.
