Ghathashi, January 31 (MExN): The Ghathashi-KT Area Sports Association (GASA) held its 2nd Meet from January 22 to 27 in Ghathashi town, where Chishilimi FC emerged as the champion in men’s football. The winning team received the championship trophy, a cash prize of Rs 60,000, and certificates. The defending champions, Iphonumi FC, settled for the runners-up trophy, along with a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and certificates.
In women’s volleyball, Tukuliqa claimed the championship by defeating the defending champions, Mukalimi, in the final. Tukuliqa received Rs. 20,000, the championship trophy, and certificates.
The title of the best-disciplined team was awarded to Shesulimi FC.
Meanwhile, in a press release, GASA expressed gratitude to Dr. Sukhato A Sema, MLA of the 13th Pughoboto Assembly Constituency and Chairman of the Subordinate Legislative Committee, and Er Pitoshe Sumi, Assistant Mining Engineer, Directorate of Geology and Mining, for gracing the 2nd Sports Meet as the chief guest and guest of honour.
The organiser also extended appreciation to the Sumi Aphuyemi Football Referee Board for officiating the tournament.
