DIMAPUR, JUNE 6 (MExN): The GB Union Dimapur (Sadar) has written to the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur requesting the inclusion of an offline application system for the ILP, citing challenges faced by non-indigenous and illiterate residents in using online platforms.
In a representation submitted to the DC, the union expressed its support for the government’s move to implement ILP across Nagaland, including Dimapur.
The union assured that the GBs would assist in ensuring smooth implementation of the permit system within the Dimapur Sadar areas. However, it pointed out that limiting the application process to an online-only system could significantly hinder effective implementation.
“Majority non-indigenous people residing in Dimapur surely are going to face problems due to illiteracy and lack of knowledge of using the web app through smart mobile phone,” the union stated. To ensure public convenience and success of the implementation, the union urged the DC to consider enabling an offline application system alongside the digital process.
