DIMAPUR, MAY 19 (MExN): Gen (Retd) Kholi Konyak was today sworn in as the Vice-Chairman of the NSCN (IM) after his nomination was approved by the National Hoho on May 17, Camp Hebron.
According to a press note from NSCN (IM) Secretary S Among Lim, Gen (Retd) Kholi in a brief speech expressed gratitude for the honour that has been given to him.
The newly inducted Vice-Chairman said his dream was to “follow and never for high post” and asked the members present “to lead the way and that he would be fully behind them.”
General Secretary Th Muivah in his address declared that Gen (Retd) Kholi was one of the glories of Naga History. Muivah also highly appreciated Gen (Retd) Kholi Konyak for taking the right decision and joining the organization for the “righteous cause.”
The swearing in, which was held in Delhi, was conducted by Rev A Puni and administered by Qhevihe Chishi Swu, Convener, Steering Committee.
Other senior functionaries of NSCN (IM) including Gen (Retd) VS Atem, Tongmet Wangnao, KP Hurray, Lincoln and Pasheto Chishi Swu were also present during the ceremony.
