Gender budgeting workshop from February 19-21

Kohima, February 18 (MExN): Advisor I&PR, SCERT and Village Guards, Toshi Wungtung will grace the inaugural programme of the State Level Workshop on gender budgeting for gender equality in rural areas at Ladies Common room, Meriema campus Nagaland University on February 19.

 


According o a DIPR report, the workshop is organized by Nagaland National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, North Eastern Regional Center (NIRD & PR- NERC) in collaboration with the Women’s Studies Center and Department of Education, Nagaland University. The three-day workshop is sponsored by Ministry of Women & Child Development Government of India which will began from February 19 to 21.  

 


The objective of the workshop is to review the rational role of gender budgeting as a tool for gender equality and also to examine the policy initiatives, programme, schemes and projects for gender mainstreaming and gender inclusive development in India. It will discuss the tools of gender budgeting at state level and examine the problems, constraints and difficulties in gender budgeting at different level.

 


Vice Chancellor NU Prof. Pardeshi Lal will be the guest of honour and key note address will be delivered by Associate Prof NIRD & PR- NERC.
