Kohima, March 11 (MExN): General David Shaw from the United Kingdom visited Don Bosco College Kohima (DBCK) on March 10 as part of his visit to Kohima.
The General delivered a motivational talk at the college, where he spoke largely about the qualities that make a great leader, informed a press release received here. The qualities that make a leader, he said, are: Focus, Confidence, Transparency, Integrity, Passion, Patience, Open-mindedness, Persistence, Communication and Accountability.
“If you have passion for a particular work, go for it. In order to be truly successful at something, you must obsess over it and let it consume you,” he stated. General Shaw also spoke about corruption in our society and the ways to overcome it.
At the end of the speech, the floor was opened up for questions. General Shaw answered queries that varied from employment opportunities in UK, to the funniest experience, the release added.
It was a maiden visit of the General to DBCK. General Shaw concluded his Army career as General Officer Commanding 2nd Division and Governor of Edinburgh Castle, having also been ADC to General Officer Commanding 2nd Armoured Division (Major General Martin Farndale) 1980-1982, it was informed.
General Shaw was accompanied by Dr. P. Ngully, the Chairman of the Council of Kohima Educational Trust.
The programme was convened by Vesülü Rhakho, 4th Semester BA Political Science Honours.
