
DIMAPUR, JUNE 5 (MExN): The Guwahati Eastern Nagaland Students' Union organized its first ever Carrom Tournament on June 3 at Tirtha Nath Sarma Hall, Chandmari, Guwahati as part of a fund-raising campaign, “while also emphasizing on the social integration of all the Nagas in Guwahati.”
A total of 62 participants took part in the competition which comprised of 44 male and 18 female participants. Various Naga tribal units took part in the competition including participants from neighboring states.
No entry fee was charged from the female participants to encourage women folks to take part in sports and social activities.
Wangyat Wangsu and Temsumeren Pongen bagged the first and second prizes respectively in the male category while Henmei Phom and Sentinaro Jamir bagged the first and second prizes respectively in the female category.
Akhang Imlong, VP, GENSU gave the thanksgiving note after which Apong Konyak, Information Secretary concluded the event with a benediction prayer.
