Get involved in developmental activities: Kaisa Rio

Lady Wife of Chief Minister Nagaland Kaisa Rio, chief guest at the 29th general meeting of the Mon District NPF Women wing held today, March 29.
 
Dimapur, March 29 (MExN): The 29th general meeting of the Mon District NPF Women wing was held today, March 29, 2011 at NPF office, Mon. Addressing the party workers, Kaisa Rio Lady wife of Chief Minister Nagaland, who was the chief guest said that after the formation of DAN government, women development, women commission, Mahilla battalion (IRB) were upgraded and created and many were employed. Citing the example of lady members in the Right To Information commission and NPSC, she said that the DAN government never neglected the women flock and added that the state was also awarded the IBM award, Nagaland women empowerment, in the category of best state.
In this regard, she urged upon the women party workers to take part and get involved not only in politics but in every developmental activity. Encouraging the women folk, Kaisa Rio credited them for the 2008 election and said that the women have extra ordinary idea and knowledge in every field. She also urged upon the party workers to work for the growth and strength of the party, as the party is the back bone of every government. She also advised them to ‘earn respect, not gain them’.
Meanwhile, Tingtok, President NPF Mon Division criticized the press statement of Yona Konyak, General Secy. NPCC and Congress candidate of 42 A/C Wakching, published on March 24 at a local daily and said that the statement was baseless as he has not seen the triple development of Mon district. “Since he (Yona Konyak) resides in Kohima, he has no knowledge about the developmental activities in his constituency,” he said. According to the President, right after the DAN Government led coalition came into power, since 2003, Mon district is developing faster in every field, such as newly construction of road, infrastructure, water supply, electricity etc have been constructed and upgraded for the people of Konyak in particular. He also claims that any individual can visit Mon district to differentiate the developmental activities before and after 2003. Even the general public of Mon was surprised and appreciated the new development and upliftment through grass root level. He also appreciated the women folk for convening and starting the meeting on time, which shows their interest in the party. Stating that women are no lesser than men, he cited the examples of  the President of India, AICC president, Leader of opposition (L.K) and encouraged them to rise up and share their views for the upliftment of the party and overall development of the state.
Others who spoke on the occasion were K. Tonlih, Vice-President Central Women Wing, Phamying Noke and Nyeiwang. Reports from nine A/C units were also delivered during the meeting. More than thousand delegates and party workers attended the meeting.
