Gethemgo Sports International (GSI) today launched Gethemgo Sports Academy at Goraggio School, Kohima.
The mission of this academy is to train and equip the young generation by engaging them in football skills with life values.
This academy was launched today during the inauguration of the new campus of Coraggio School in the presence of Higher Education & Tribal Affairs Minister, Temjen Imna Along; Youth Resources & Sports Advisor, Er Zale Neikha; Coraggio School Chief Patron, Vilelie Khamo and several other dignitaries.
Along unveiled the jersey of Gethemgo Sports Academy while the background of Gethemgo Sports Academy was highlighted by Dr Viposa Kiso, Director, GSI.
“We are committed to engage and train young people with excellence and love, by enabling them to fulfil their potential with footballing experience,” he stated.
“The world of sports has grown leaps and bounds and over 85% of the world population is involved in it and stakeholders of Nagaland have never remained behind,” reads the GSI pamphlet.
In this, GSI is keen towards creating an ambience “truly international in class” and create a platform through its global partners to give a fresh-lift to the scenario of sports in Nagaland.
The pamphlet stated that the “academy is focused on on-going discipleship of players on a daily/weekly basis where coaches become father/parent/role model figures for a hurting fatherless generation.”
“The need of a lost generation of young people is presented with the solution of believing coaches engaging in weekly programs with a framework of sport, faith and future,” it added.
