Dimapur, December 27 (MExN): Government Headquarter (GHQ) Naga Army NSCN (R) has justified the expulsion of its Army Chief Jackson and “reaffirmed to support the right step taken by the government to throw him out from high position in military set up to save the face of the Naga Army.”
In a press release issued through MIP NSCN (R), the Army headquarters questioned “as to how a man like Jackson challenged the collective leadership and threatened to kill in open day light? And with whose support did he make his decision to attack the life of collective leaders?” The release stated that suspecting his character, the Army and the authority of the government tried to correct him but Jackson made his failed military coup in eastern sector (Makury region) without any decision from “neither GHQ nor knowledge of the President who is the supreme commander.”
Stating that Jackson is expelled from the NSCN government, GHQ confirmed that he is no more chief of the Army staff and appealed to all Naga Army and civil members to cut off any form of relationship with Jackson. The GHQ further warned Jackson to return two numbers of arms taken away by him.
The expulsion statement of December 18 has fixed a week time for return of the arms and crossing the stipulated time will attract action, added the release. In the case of Jackson joining other Naga group, the group should not take it as a challenge if action is taken on Jackson, it maintained, as his issue will remain to be a separate chapter. GHQ affirmed that relationship among all Naga group will continue unshakably but Jackson’s issue will be operational. Through its MIP, the NSCN (R) has appealed all agencies of Government of India to severe tie from Jackson. It however confirmed continued cordial relationship with all agencies.
