GHS Kuthur Village without Science teacher for over 10 yrs

Tuensang, September 25 (MExN): Government High School Kuthur Village, Tuensang is running without science teacher for more than 10 years and is also in need of a number of other facilities to facilitate quality education, the school authority apprised Yimchungrü Tribal Council officials who visited the school today.  

The visit was headed by Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC) President Throngso Yimchunger and Tuensang SP, Bharat Laxman Markat, IPS, a release from YTC, Info & Publicity Secretary Mathew K Janger informed.  

The Government high school is situated 15 kms away from Tuensang town and is one of the oldest school which is going to celebrate its golden jubilee this year in the month of November. It was established in 1968, the release said.  

The school authority while interacting with the officials, however lamented that “the school is running without science teacher for more than 10 years.” “Students are compelled to take additional classes for that particular subject,” the release also stated.  

It further stated that the school has no library, lab and computer facilities for which the students aren’t able to avail quality education.  

Meanwhile, SP Tuensang, Bharat Laxman Markat donated sports items and music instruments for the students and assured to the students that “if time permits he wished to take class for math subject.”  

He, at the same time, encouraged students to take up study as a hobby and have vision and he also told teachers to teach the students on concept base and experimentation. YTC president also encouraged teaching staffs to play an important role in educating the children stating that teachers are the back bone of students career.  

The Village Council of Kathur, Village Education Committee (VEC), teaching staff and students of GHS were also present during the visit.
