GHS Mekokla school building inaugurated

Wokha, March 18 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner of Wokha, Wezope Kenye on March 17 inaugurated the newly constructed building of Government High School Mekokla.  

The DC appealed to all the people of Mekokla to have a feeling of ownership and take good care of the school building. Encouraging the students to do well in their studies, he urged them to become responsible citizens. He further urged the villagers to have unity and work with a feeling of oneness to witness more of such developments in future. The DC also told the villagers to complete the selection/formation of village council at the earliest to take the village forward.  

On non availability of Science, Maths and Hindi teachers in the school, the DC assured that they will take up the issue to the government on priority and at the same time see that alternative arrangement can be made in consultation with the department concerned.  

Contractor of the building, Manthungo Kikon, while giving a brief report about the school building, appealed to the school authority to form a committee in collaboration with the Mekokla Students’ Union to monitor the foundation of Lt. Longtsu Memorial Educational Trust and added that an amount of Rs. 50,000 will be donated towards the Trust in memory of his late father Longtsu for the welfare of the students community of Mekokla village.  

Earlier, Rev. Dr. LL Kikon, Mission & Evangelism Secretary offered the dedication prayer.
