Naga United Village, April 26 (MExN): Government High School (GHS) Naga United organised a one-day seminar on the theme “women’s health and hygiene” in observance of the 10th Bagless Day on April 25 at the Village Council Hall.
The programme featured resource persons from the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR), including Prof L Lidziisa Mao from the Department of Community Health Nursing, Nursing Tutors Seropila and Akumtoshi, and Community Health Programme Manager Mar Longkumer. They were accompanied by ten intern students from the fourth-year B.Sc Nursing batch.
During the seminar, the resource persons delivered sessions on key health issues affecting women, including cervical cancer, abortion and HIV/AIDS, among other related topics.
The intern students conducted demonstrations using visual aids on sex education, the reproductive system, menstrual hygiene, and awareness on good touch and bad touch, engaging the participants in interactive learning.
Altogether, around 199 girl students from Classes VI to X attended the programme, along with teaching and non-teaching staff of the school. The event was chaired by Sungtemmenla Aier, Graduate Teacher of GHS Naga United Village. The seminar was appreciated for raising awareness among adolescent girls on health, hygiene and personal safety, while encouraging informed and healthy lifestyle practices.
