GHS Sechü (Zubza) celebrates silver jubilee

Kohima, October 4 (MExN): The Government High School Sechü (Zubza) today celebrated its Silver Anniversary at its school premises with ardent call for better coordination among all stakeholders for betterment of the school.  

A newly constructed school building was also inaugurated built under RMSA 2016-2017 school building strengthening by Menukhol John, Principal Secretary School Education, who was the guest of honour at the occasion.  

Earlier, the jubilee monolith was unveiled by Keneizhakho Nakhro, Member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly from 8th Western Angami constituency with a dedicatory prayer by Pastor Pelevisie Rhatsu, Baptist Revival Church, Sechuma.   Addressing the gathering, Nakhro lauded the school governing authority, students, parents, teachers and the pioneers for their selfless sacrifices in making the jubilee a grand success.  

He urged the parents, teachers and the students to have a better coordination for the betterment of the school as it progresses ahead.  

Nakhro also lamented that though government schools have high qualified teachers, their performances are lagging far behind private schools.  

To this end, he called upon the teachers to be sincere and give their best in the days to come by introspecting and correcting past mistakes.  

Meanwhile, Menukhol John also encouraged the students to study hard by giving their best ability.   “Have a dream and dream big, as nothing is impossible if there is a dream,” he added.  

Stating that the school cannot run on individual ideas alone, but with team spirit, John also called upon the teachers, parents, students and village elders to jointly work for the betterment of the school.  

He further assured help to the school from the department side in every possible way when a need arise.  

Short speeches by Mhasikhotuo Zhünyü chairman Village Council Sechü; K Lezo, land donor; and Mhomo Tungoe SDO, Sechü (Zubza).  

The programme was led by Neiphi Viya while a welcome note was given by Kevizeno Savino, the school headmistress.
