Chiechama, May 20 (DIPR): Government Higher Secondary School, Chiechama organized a felicitation programme cum inauguration of newly constructed girls’ hostel on May 20 in Chiechama. Commissioner and Secretary, Khrienuo Metha was the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, the chief guest encouraged the teachers and village leaders to continue to work for the betterment of the student’s community. She expressed hope that every student who resides in the newly constructed girls’ hostel would understand the value of education and be determined to do well. Acknowledging the difficulties faced by teachers in the rural areas, she further pointed out that it is less taxing for the teachers in urban areas as educated parents support them along. She thanked the Village Vision Cell Chiechama, teachers and village leaders for their contribution and efforts in constructing the hostel and timely completion of the same. Principal, GHSS, Chiechama, Visetonuo Angami apprised that it was the first felicitation programme being held for class-X and XII successful students of GHSS, Chiechama since its up-gradation to Higher Secondary School. She expressed gratitude to the Convenor and his team and all the members of the Village Vision Cell for their support in the upliftment of the school, building the girls hostel, and maintenance of the approach road from the highway till the school. The function was chaired by Convenor, Village Vision Cell, Neilasa Sopfü. Short speeches were delivered by Chairman, Chiechama Village Council and officials from School Education Department. Special song was presented by students of GHSS, Chiechama. Earlier Rev. Sonei-u Metha pronounced the invocation.
