Kohima, June 22 (MExN): Minister for Rural Development Metsubo Jamir on Wednesday urged department officials to be sincere and give extra effort to finish pending targets.
Addressing a performance review meeting with all Project Directors of District Rural Development Agencies (DRDAs) and Block Development Officers (BDOs) on June 22, the Minister expressed dissatisfaction at the status reports and urged the project directors (PDs) to be more responsible in discharging their duties and the BDOs to keep updating their respective PDs.
According to a press release, he also called upon the officers to make it a point to attend such meetings whenever called upon so as to keep updated on progress of programmes and for a thorough discussion on challenges and hurdles faced while implementing programmes.
The review meeting was held at the RD Conference Hall, Kohima under the chairmanship of Director, RD, Liboni Humtsoe. On the occasion, Commissioner and Secretary, RD Neposo Theluo, highlighted various issues and difficulties faced under several schemes and sought the support and co-operation of all officers to the department in solving pending issues.
He also reminded the PDs and BDOs to be very thorough with the guidelines provided by the Ministry for all programmes being implemented and to follow rules and regulations.
The day-long meeting discussed and reviewed various programmes including Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), MGNREGA, Grand-in-Aid, VDB Welfare Fund, Micro-Finance & UC, Fifteenth Finance Commission Grant to RLB and Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA).
The review meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by additional director, RD Azenuo Pienyü, the release stated.
