A bold initiative taken by Glamazon Events to launch the first ever contest for hair stylists and makeup artists has been well received. The event entitled ‘Color Trophy’ was held at Niathu Resort Sunday evening under the theme ‘tribal inspiration;’ and graced by Khuzoluzo Neinu, Minister for Health and Family Welfare.
Commenting on the event, Neinu said Nagas are second to none as far as beauty and fashion is concerned. He said many Nagas are doing extremely well in the fashion industry. However, he pointed out that Nagas need to also pursue the profession and create success stories. He said that the government is seriously promoting entrepreneurship and fashion as it evolves into an industry, is also a major area of concentration. He added that with Nagas taking up such professions, the problem of unemployment will not arise.
A dash of glamour was added by fashion rounds of ‘ethnic wear’ and ‘fairy’ created by K Creative, Dimapur, and ‘tribal inspiration’ by Vikhetoli Das from Guwahati. Alobo Naga and Kalino provided the elements of music.
The event was judged by fashion designer Rusuo Rhi, makeup artist Valerie and model Akhounuo Khezhie. Color Trophy was adjudged under four categories. The ‘set of color trophy’ went to Mathew; best makeup artist (female) went to Lovi; best hair color and stylist (male) went to Ajung and best hair color and stylist (female) went to Martha. The winners will get to participate in the L’Oreal Professional Color Trophy contest at Mumbai.
