‘Glitches’ poetry book released

A book entitled’Glitches’- a collection of poems written by Cükhosa Rose (A Rose) was officially released by Kevitshunuo Linyu, Asst. Professor, Department of English, Kohima Science College, Jotsoma at CUE Academy, Kohima.

Releasing the book, Linyu in her short speech said “poems are product of passionate feelings and poetry is the overflow of powerful feelings.”

Stating that it takes a lot of efforts and patience to compose or write a creative poem, she however, said the end result is always satisfying as it gives happiness to the author which is something incomparable.

“It (Poetry) enlightens, it inspires, it teaches and most importantly it is genuine. That's the most genuine thing of poetry,” Linyu added.

23 year old Rose who was fond of reading poems at a young age said in poetry, one could see creativity, life and soul in it.
Rose said he drew his inspirations to write poetry by listening to teachers, while writing small lines or notes, looking at the things around the society, through hard times or good times in life.

“I don't like long stories or exaggerated things. I just convey things to be straightforward,” he said.

Graduated from Sazolie College, he also read the poems, “Death” and “Cause” from one of his collection and explained the theme and the meaning behind them.

Earlier, Dr. Rukulu Kezo Puro, Founder & Chief Instructor, CUE Academy while congratulating the author said that CUE Academy encourages writers to unlock their own hidden potentials and give wings to their creativity while Rose has been able to find his own gift and is now giving wings to his undeniably insightful thoughts in the book of poems. 

She described Rose as a bright student who wrote every line of the book with his heart and with full of conventional ideas and thoughts of life. Puro said Rose is very passionate about the things he write and lauded him for his sincerity and hardworking who never missed any class.

In the collection titled, ‘Glitches,’ Rose presents his view on a variety of themes and emerges as a commentator of life as well as society, she penned in Foreword. Boldly and honestly, he paints the glitches he sees in himself and the society he lives in verse. The awareness of the corruption and the souls rotting under the corrupt system, informs most of his poems.

Puro stated that the poems in the collection reveal stark truths about life which are the product of a young mind who sees the world without painted glasses. The poems carry with them intense thoughts and messages and are beautifully conveyed in verse.

Dr. Adenuo Shirat Luikham, Asst. Professor, Dept of English, Don Bosco College, Kohima scored the review job of  ‘Glitches.’
